It's always a pleasure to see what everyone is making with the ongoing Wardrobe Fit-Along. Cathy has done a superb job on sewing and fitting her white shirt. She has a tried and true pattern ready to cut and sew! Thanks Cathy! If you need help fitting your white shirt check out the videos from Sew-To-Fit.
We all need at least one great white shirt in our closet.

I used the white cotton sateen shirting that Roz sells. This is a beautiful fabric, light weight, easy to sew, with a subtle sateen sheen that bumps a basic shirt up a notch on the elegant scale.
My collar construction differs from the traditional collar presented in the pattern guide sheet.
This collar technique works well for those who like to wear their collars standing up. The way the collar pattern piece is shaped puts the undercollar on the bias which helps hold up the collar.
What I like most about a white shirt is its versatility. It can be worn casually with jeans to the grocery store........
dressed up a bit for more festive occasions.......
and even worn when a more serious vibe is needed.
