Pewter Lace
Designer-Prabal Gurung
This is a stunning stretch lace from Prabal Gurung's fall 2010 collection.  The moderate stretch is both lengthwise and crosswise and the overall hand is supple with good body.  The backing is solid black with silver metallic threads on top.  The two colors together make the lace a beautiful pewter color.  Make a sheath dress, cardigan jacket or top for evening.

Pattern Review McCalls 6319, View C

Peachy Pink Knit
96% Cotton  4% Lycra

Prewash: I washed this in a laundry bag, cold water using the perma press cycle and the perma press cycle to dry.  The fabric shrunk 2" in length and none in width.

Notions: Stretch Needle size 11, Gutermann thread #350, Tricot Lining, 1/4" elastic

Alterations: I repeated the same FBA adjustment used on the Vogue 1205 dress

Construction Details: I only made one change to the pattern instructions.  Instead of lining the bodice, I lined the skirt. Because this knit is cotton, I didn't want it to bunch or cling.

Shoulder Pleats

                                                                           Back View
Conclusion: This pattern is quick and easy but has a lot of style. It could work for a formal occasion in the right fabric. The cream/mocha animal print knit  would look great in this, too.
