Pattern Review Butterick 5562, View D

Lilac/Grey Heather Knit
100% Cotton

Prewash: Washed on the cotton cycle warm water and dried on perma press cycle.  The fabric shrunk 7" in length and 2" in width.

NotionsClear Elastic, Gutermann thread #113

Alterations:  I used the medium size (12-14) and didn't need my normal full bust adjustment.  There was a little too much ease in the bust area, so I ended up taking it in 1/2" at both side seams.

Construction Details: I cut this out and put it together in 3-1/2 hours!  I deviated from the instructions for the sleeve and put it in flat and then sewed the side seams.

I used clear elastic elastic and stretched it to fit for the collar shirring.

Sleeve hem

Seam Finish

Conclusion: This is a great "sew and go" pattern.  It would look great lengthened into a dress. These knits would work, too-Black T-Shirt Knit and Burgundy/Taupe Animal Print Knit.
